Our Culture COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT > Our Culture > Community Involvement Giving BackGiving back to the community is built into the very fabric of Å®ÓÅÒùÍÞÅàѵӪ. We believe making investments that improve the quality of life in the communities where we live and work is of the utmost importance. Whether it’s volunteering time on community projects or raising money for charities, Å®ÓÅÒùÍÞÅàѵӪ is proud of the companywide participation of its team members and their families. In addition to a variety of community projects, we support annually children’s hospitals, food drives, United Way, walk-run-rides, and youth team sponsorships. Children’s hospitals drivesOur children’s hospitals drives raise an average of $100,000 for over 20 children’s hospitals throughout the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic. Donor support allows these hospitals to give children expert care. These contributions have gone to research and training, purchase equipment, and pay for uncompensated care, all in support of the mission to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible. Food PantriesÅ®ÓÅÒùÍÞÅàѵӪ has long been an advocate and partner with food pantries. Our annual food drives encourage team member participation and allow us to give back to the communities where we live and work by choosing an organization to donate collected food items and funds. These team member donations are matched 100 percent by Å®ÓÅÒùÍÞÅàѵӪ and distributed to food banks all across the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic. United Way We support the United Way’s vision of seeing the quality of life improve in our communities and our world by giving children and adults the resources they need. Å®ÓÅÒùÍÞÅàѵӪ partners with the United Way to ensure that individuals and families everywhere have access to the basic building blocks for a good life – education, income, and health. S.T.E.M. and Youth OrganizationsÅ®ÓÅÒùÍÞÅàѵӪ truly believes that S.T.E.M. programs enrich a child’s learning experience and can help lead them to a career based on science, math, technology or engineering. All team members with a child or grandchild participating in a S.T.E.M. program are eligible to receive a donation to their child/grandchild’s program. Youth organizations are equally important to helping mold young minds. Å®ÓÅÒùÍÞÅàѵӪ donates to team member’s children’s organizations annually for non-school activities such as recreational sports, boy/girl scouts, dance, etc. Volunteer Paid Time Off Matching ProgramVolunteer opportunities are set up by Å®ÓÅÒùÍÞÅàѵӪ for team members to participate in. Team members volunteer for 8 hours. Å®ÓÅÒùÍÞÅàѵӪ pays for 4 hours while the team member uses 4 hours of their time. Over the years, we have been involved in various organizations including food banks, Meals on Wheels, updating playgrounds and Habitat for Humanity.
