Transportation Cleveland Hopkins Airport Parking Redevelopment > Projects > Cleveland Hopkins Airport Parking Redevelopment Å®ÓÅÒùÍÞÅàѵӪ was selected to complete the Design-Build of the Cleveland Airport System (CLE) Parking Redevelopment Program – Phase 1. This keystone project incorporated leading-edge smart parking technology at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.  The project included the demolition of a 3,000-car pre-cast concrete parking garage. This garage was replaced with a 4,000-space parking garage equipped with smart parking technology. The system gives the Owner the ability to fill the garage to capacity. In addition, a new 1,000-car surface parking lot was created. The design of this lot incorporated comprehensive environmental sustainability initiatives; water run-off drains to the exterior of the lot and uses vegetation and bioswales for retention and cleaning, as opposed to traditional drainage systems that go directly into storm sewers. The parking redevelopment program required nearly 300,000 cubic yards of concrete and 100,000 cubic yards of excavation. Also required was the construction of 50 MGD pump station, relocation of critical airport functions, such as the bomb squad and parking management offices and extensive relocation of utility systems to accommodate the new parking facilities. ŮÓÅÒùÍÞÅàѵӪ brought additional value to the City of Cleveland by constructing a new pre-engineered metal building instead of performing an originally planned garage renovation. This saved the Owner approximately $250,000 and resulted in increased parking capacity. In addition, Å®ÓÅÒùÍÞÅàѵӪ successfully maintained parking capacity during construction in an unusually harsh winter. PROJECT DETAILS: Project Name: Cleveland Hopkins Airport Parking Redevelopment
