Transportation INDOT I-465 NOISEWALL

INSIDE THE PROJECT

As part of Å®ÓÅÒùÍÞÅàѵӪ’s growth and increase in self-performance capabilities, Å®ÓÅÒùÍÞÅàѵӪ expanded into new markets to pursue foundation drilling and noisewall construction. On the east side of I-465 in Indianapolis, Indiana, Å®ÓÅÒùÍÞÅàѵӪ obtained its first INDOT contract which included 13,000-linear-feet of noisewall and totaled 203,000-square-feet of pre-cast noisewall panels.

On the $6.4 million project, Å®ÓÅÒùÍÞÅàѵӪ self-performed both the foundation drilling and erection of the noisewall. The foundation work included the drilling of 14,000-linear-feet of 24-inch diameter shafts and installation of 900 galvanized H-piles – placed in concrete – for noisewall support.

The project also called for the construction of two bridge-mounted noisewalls, which Å®ÓÅÒùÍÞÅàѵӪ also self-performed.
